Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Classroom-Based Course

DESCRIPTION:
ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care.  It also covers airway management and related pharmacology.  In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.  The Renewal Course includes skills practice and skills testing.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
After participating in this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize and initiate early management of periarrest conditions that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome. 
2. Demonstrate proficiency in providing BLS care, including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
3. Recognize and manage respiratory arrest.
4. Recognize and manage cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or transfer of care, including immediate post-cardiac arrest care.
5. Recognize and initiate early management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS), including appropriate disposition.
6. Recognize and initiate early management of stroke, including appropriate disposition.
7. Demonstrate effective communication as a member or leader of a resuscitation team and recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance.

THE ACLS TEXTBOOK IS MANDATORY FOR TRAINING. IF YOU OWN A CURRENT 2015 AHA ACLS TEXTBOOK FROM A PREVIOUS TRAINING YOU DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE ANOTHER TEXTBOOK.

THE REGISTRANT MUST PRESENT:

A VALID ACLS CERTIFICATION TO BE RE-CERTIFIED. 

VALID BLS FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER CPR CERTIFICATION.

This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

This is the most common kind of BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification needed by Healthcare Workers. Required for working in the healthcare industry such as a hospital, clinic, nursing home, assisted living facility or any healthcare setting. 

  • Critical concepts of high-quality CPR
  • The American Heart Association Chain of Survival
  • 1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
  • 2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
  • Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques
  • Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant
  • Rescue breathing for adult, child and infant
  • Relief of choking for adult, child and infant
  • CPR with an advanced airway*

We provide you with a barrier device for training purposes. You will receive a two year certification card. Approx. 3 Hours.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.
 
This is a well-rounded course for the layperson as well as the fitness instructor, teacher, coach, scout leader, factory worker or childcare professional.  We will provide you with a barrier device for training purposes.
 
This is not a class for HEALTHCARE WORKERS. Please sign-up for the BLS Healthcare Provider CPR course if you are in the healthcare industry and need the BLS certification.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid, CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.

This is a well-rounded course for the layperson as well as the fitness instructor, teacher, and childcare professional. Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED, Choking and FIRST AID will be covered. We will provide you with a barrier device for training purposes.

We will also be learning how to deal with a wide variety of medical emergencies. These would include how to deal with heart attacks, diabetic emergencies, stroke, shock, trauma, environmental emercencies and more. As a student, you will leave this class feeling confident that you will know how to handle many difficult situations at your workplace, in public, or at home.
